YOUTH RED CROSS [ YRC]

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) is a part of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and is a voluntary humanitarian organization.It aims to cultivate among the youth a sense of discipline, service, and dedication to humanitarian causes.The YRC promotes health, hygiene, and sanitation practices among young people. Youth Red Cross has the following three principles:

  • Protection of Health & Life
  • Service to the Sick & Suffering
  • Promotion of National & International Friendship, to develop the mental and moral capacities of the youth.


Youth Red Cross is a group movement organized for group members of the age 18 to 30 years. The YRC works closely with schools, colleges, and other youth organizations to promote its humanitarian goals. Promotion of Health, Awareness about HIV / AIDS, Awareness campaign on hazards of drug addiction, Awareness about Health programs, Service to othersProviding First Aid for wounded / sick, Relief work during emergenciesDissemination of Red Cross Movement, Developing Friendship, State & National Integration CampsCommunal harmony, Literacy campaign / youth exchange program, Workshops for understanding & accepting of civil responsibilities are some of the main activities undertaken by the Youth Red Cross. It collaborates with government agencies and other NGOs to address various social issues. The YRC celebrates important days such as World Red Cross Day and International Youth Day to raise awareness about its activities.The YRC also provides opportunities for youth to develop their personality, communication skills, and social awareness and helps accomplish self development goals through selfless service. Through its activities, the YRC aims to create a generation of socially responsible citizens who are committed to serving humanity.

In our college Mr.Saravanan , Assistant professor/Agri act as YRC coordinator. Our YRC volunteer students made awareness about various things among village peoples through various programs
