The disruptive breakthroughs of this century have been made possible by AI and data science, which are rising technological revolutions that have changed the way we work and live. Indra Ganesan College of Engineering,Trichy will launch a new department called "Artificial Intelligence and Data Science" from the beginning of June 2022. The department will be propelled by its dedication to leading the way in cutting-edge research, design, and development in the fields of artificial intelligence and data analytics. Our goal is to foster industry-academia collaboration, promote interdisciplinary research, and prepare our people to contribute to cross-disciplinary initiatives by transforming the produced technology into practical effects.

The distinctive B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI & DS) curriculum is designed to give students the technical abilities they need to process, analyse, and visualise data in a variety of real-time applications. The programme aims to give students the skills to recognise and evaluate societal, health, safety, and cultural challenges with a focus on defining their subsequent obligations as engineers to provide the best possible solutions.

The intended curriculum is fundamentally multidisciplinary, combining computer science with mathematical foundations, artificial intelligence techniques, machine learning principles, statistical methods, data science philosophies, and their applications in a variety of fields. Subfields including Big Data Analytics, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, and Pattern Recognition are also included in the curriculum.
